Continental GT Scrambler ~ Nomad Motorcycles

Built for Comfort, Not Just Looks

Motorcycle customization serves one main purpose. It must improve comfort in every riding situation. Style matters, but real riders value long-ride comfort more than show appeal. Many enthusiasts pay for poor ergonomics with aching backs and biker butt.

The machine featured today proves this idea. The project started as a Royal Enfield Continental GT 535. The owner wanted better comfort and a fresh character. For this task, he approached Nomad Motorcycles, a respected custom workshop in Pune. He asked them to keep the soul of the GT yet make it friendlier for daily use.

Vision Behind the Build

Siddharth D’Souza, the creative head at Nomad Motorcycles, explained the concept behind the bike.

“We named the motorcycle Rudra. The design draws inspiration from Krishna and the Triumph Bonneville. We focused on comfort first. We replaced the stock clip-ons with a scrambler handlebar. Our team machined it onto the original T-plate. This change improved control right away.”

The team also corrected the riding posture. They machined new forward-set foot pegs. These pegs moved the brake and gear shifter forward. As a result, the rider gained a relaxed stance.

Simple and Utilitarian Design

Nomad Motorcycles followed a clean design language. They removed the original Continental tank. Instead, they fitted a Standard Royal Enfield tank to the GT frame. This swap changed the silhouette and increased comfort.

The workshop finished the bike in Matte Powder Blue. They added a gloss cross-stitch leather seat and subtle copper accents. These touches gave the motorcycle a refined personality.

In-House Accessories and Details

The team crafted many parts in their own workshop. They built:

  • Bar-end indicators

  • Copper tail lamp

  • Copper foot pegs

  • Minimal grab rail

These elements tied the build together. Nomad kept the stock frame to avoid legal and practical issues. The owner wanted an everyday motorcycle, not a showpiece.

Real-World Riding Results

After the first test ride, the workshop felt impressed. The raised handlebar and upright position changed the GT completely. The bike now handles city traffic with ease. It also feels relaxed on highways.

Siddharth summed it up best:

“The motorcycle turned better than we expected. It gained comfort and practicality without losing its spirit. We truly enjoyed the build and the final product.”
