MG-07 – Royal Enfield Bobber by Mean Green Customs, Mumbai

There are beautiful customs. Motorcycles thet are so neat, you would imagine the builder scrubbing up before working on it. Motorcycle that you would love to stare to hours! Motorcycle you dream to ride. We have a lovely piece of artistic creation of another Beautiful Bobber in our bucket from not-so-old  Mean Green Customs, Mumbai! A 500cc Classic engine could’nt be placed in any better way!

Aditya  from Mean Green Customs described us the building experiance behind building MG-07 , they named the bobbed bullet MG-07, “The bike originally was a Royal Enfield classic 500. I wanted a heavier and a high displacement motor so I decided to go with a 500cc, even then I didn’t want to add too much of metal and chunky fat tyres on my build.
I designed the bike to look old school with a few new age elements to it but at the same time also wanted the bike to perform well without putting any load on the engine.
After doing a lot of research on the rubbers I decided to go with the Avon’s as they look great and perform well on the Enfield’s because tyres are the major part of the bike.”

“When I started with the build I wanted to take of as much as weight possible to make it lean. The bike started off as a sketch and that’s when I locked on the design features of the bike. Minimal mods and a clean ride was what I wanted to achieve.
My taste mean, low, lean, clean and green. I decided to go with the rigid frame as I always wanted to get a feel of it. I lowered the front suspension to match my design and to keep the bike low towards the ground. Hid all the electricals in the cylindrical box located under the seat. Decided to go with a different tank shape cuz peanut tank was what everyone was going with lately. When it came to paintjob I added my taste and my favourite print which was the digital camouflage. As you can see I didn’t want too much of chrome on my bike to keep it apart from the chopper class and brass is a heavier metal which also turns black; so to avoid too much of maintenance I decided to go with anodised aluminium on my well machined and finished parts like exhaust tip, bar end caps, fuel cap, tail light ring and the crown nuts on the forks. These parts added lot of detail and complimented the whole motorcycle well. The seat is upholstered in quilted brown leather and the grips and foot pegs are wrapped in the same to match with it.
The results were good; bike performed well on the road and got a good review and reaction from everyone, the hard work was well appreciated. That’s when I decided to expand and get into the business. Being graduated as an Industrial designer I had an option to go ahead work for someone or go abroad for masters but instead I decided to start my own design studio and a custom shop where I sit and do what I am good at. And that’s where the journey began for “Mean Green Customs”.”
