Hyosung GV250, The 250cc V-Twin Cruiser To Launch With Affordable Price

We have seen the 200cc-250cc segment motorcycle gets the maximum attention in Country, and when it comes with a real V Twin engine with an ultimate cruiser look with an affordable price, you can easily say it’s a dream comes true for Indian motorcycle fans. The Korean motorcycle company, who already had launched two models(Hyosung GT650N/Rs. 5,10,000 and Hyosung ST7/Rs. 6,50,000) here in India, has planned to launched the new Hyosung GV250 and Hyosung GV125 in the mid-2012, and expected Price will be approx 2.5 Lakh for Hyosung GV250, source confirmed.

The company has had fairly good success in the middleweight motorcycle space with its two sporty 650cc offerings, the GT650R and the GT650N. Also on the cards is their 250cc cruiser machine – the GV250, that will offer give a much needed shot in the arm to the Indian affordable cruiser motorcycle segment. Pricing for these models is expected to be highly competitive.

Will this make a change into Indian motorcycle market?

  • Keep aside Harley Davidsons since they are expencive for aam janta, everyone can’t afford them.
  • Royal Enfield has the unbeatable reputation and more crazy fans, seems which will remain forever in every part in the world. But, still there are fans, kind of upset with their same models, why don’t they bring some new varieties? they keep questioning, and you can’t totally blame them, Royal Enfiled still manufactures the models were designed since 1948, they have upgraded the technology, not much into look.
  • The most important changes, according to few custom builders, may cause hell trouble for them, Mostly custom bikes are built from the donor Royal Enfield bike, which costs approx Lakh if you start your project with an Electra and the custom charge are not less than 80K – 2 Lakh or more. Will the launch of this 2.5Lakh V Twin cruiser interfere the custom motorcycle market?
  • There are much difference into look, style and status  between the Bajaj’s 220cc Avenger and this new Hyosung GV250, so this won’t be a fare compare even if they belong into almost same power sgment.

Though generacally there are huge difference between a company manufactured bike (even if it’s a cruiser) and a custom made bobber/chopper, but money matters. And someone who only wants a cruiser without knowing much of Motorcycle genre , the new launch may attracts them.

  1. looks like this Hyosung went abroad, saw a Harley Davidson and copied them (except the engine), made it cheap using cheap covers.
kind of Chinies Apple phones eh ? LOL’

  2. let’s wait till the arrival, I’ve seen ST7 which is good enough and make a difference in the road. and Hyosung has a quite good reputation too. why to judge everyone with Harley Davidson? Do you compare your Royal Enfield with Triumph or your Pulsar with Ducati?
It’s an affordable price and Hyosung is trusted enough to pay, it’s unfair being blined for Royal Enfield (I own 2 Royal Enfield, does that mean I cant appreciate others except Harley Davidson? )

  3. I m a student and i will probably go for this one, i was looking for a 2lakh bike. i will wait till the launch

  4. royal enfield my ass i have TBTS hell lot of problems and more over even 500cc cant generate more than 27 bhp n this 250 hyusong got 28 more than enough for indian roads this one has my vote already…..dnt judge the book by its cover dumb fucks….most of them praise HD coz they cant afford it…

    1. U fool .. Power is not always proportional to engine size..
A tractor’s engine gives around just 30 BHp, if u’ve ever seen one . Its compensated in the torque

  5. someone tell these people that hyosung is korean not chinese….and this bike will sure be a big hit as it fills that gap which needs to be filled by an actual bike with good bhp in this segment. 250cc and 28bhp is quite powerfull, enfielf 500cc produces 27 bhp…see the difference??? if u want better, get hyosung gv 650 aquila pro, it will blow your mind.

    1. First of all 27 is BHP not torque. and Cruisers are known for Torque not horse power.

      RE 500 has 40+ torque.

  6. not bad really…2.5lak is very affordable price…yes i want a HD but cant afford, so i would happily go with this one…lets wait!!! 🙂

  7. i think this will be a great bike, but will hyosung will be able to price this bike competitive enough to fight against the likes of cbr 250 and ktm duke, although this is a cruiser bike but price under 2 lakh will be great booster as indian market is all about price game as far as bikes r concern….
if it is under or around 2 lakh …surely it will be pain in the a** for other bike makers

  8. thts good bt evn better than this bike royal enfield has launched a 500cc thunder bird u may watch this bike it has 28hp and amazing 41nm nm torque. thts really a good bike great pick p nd speed.

  9. Well, to be honest I was not completely aware of this launch till last week and I do know about Aquila that was launched earlier. All I would say is that we should not compare this class of bike with Royal Enfield, HD or even Avenger as they might be all cruisers but have different appeal coming for it.. Someone preferring RE would not think of anything else and same goes for Avenger or HD.. Of course we all would love to own HD but who’d pay for it and the truth is those are the best money can ever buy but hey, this is India and 1 out of 100 might not even afford to buy HD… On the other hand, Hyosung has really done an impressive job by creating a masterpiece as Indian riders’ demand falls between 150 – 220 CC catagory only because of the price attached to higher capacity bikes.. Even a Pulsur 200 NS or 220 DTSi costs more than a Lac, n RE goes beyond 1.3 lac so why not go for something like GV 250??? I mean yea the quality is still not assured, the after-sale service is a question but still people will fall for this as the look mesmerises for sure.. Cruisers are not meant for power or racing rather its for comfortable long tours with a good speed coming eventually and a power of 25 HP n a Torque of 22.04 NM is acceptable and good enough for an exciting ride… I was planning to buy an Avenger till last week, booked one indeed but called it off this weekend and will see how GV 250 comes around this year and if I like it, I’ll definitely go for it.. Let’s hope for the best…

  10. Well, this bike is about to be launched in June or July this year in India.. Not a confirmed info but we can expect that to happen anytime in the 3rd quarter of 2013. The site for the bike is: http://www.hisntmotors.com/ and the English one is: http://eng.hisntmotors.com/

The bike is pretty famous in US and is being used by many people due to it’s price which comes to around $ 3999 K only which is far far cheaper than any of the US brands…. Im just waiting for the moment when I can get one for myself..

  11. Well, it was stated to be June 2013 but still no signs yet, at least in Kolkata.. ST7 is available though and have spotted a few on streets… I think i will have to visit the nearest showroom in order to get latest updates on it..

  12. Im not going to compare a Thunderbird and Hyosung as both has it’s own place but the real flaw with Hyosung is that its gonna be expansive as it’s being imported directly in full assembled condition… KTM 390 booking has started and the price rance is somewhere between 2.3 L to 2.6 L beacuse of indigenous production… I find the only flaw of this bike to be it’s price.. On the other hand if you put Thunderbird, it’s 350 cc gives a max torque of Maximum Power of 19.8 bhp @ 5250 rpm and a Maximum Torque of 28Nm @ 4000 rpm which I would say to be underpowered for a 350 CC segment (Bajaj Avenger has max pwr of 19.03 BHP @ 8100 and 17.5 NM of Torque at 220 CC). The Thunderbird 500 has a pwr of 27.2 BHp of power and 41.3 Nm of torque which in many eyes would look way underpowered at this class of a bike.

We all argue as there are no alternate options available in market for cruisers. In India we have Bajaj Avenger, Thunderbird/Enfield and this coming Hyosung with GV series. The clear winner in comparison would be Hyosung here with apropriate power in its class of engine..
