Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there lived a biker named Doug. He lived in an old carriage house. (Alright, it’s really an old barn, but carriage house sounds so much better, doesn’t it?) Anyway, Doug always dreamed that someday he would open a bike shop. When he was younger, he and another biker named Pasquale talked about opening their own shop and they were going to name it EZ Rider, but that never got much past the talking stage. Many miles and many years passed and although Doug built or customized several bikes along the way, the shop still was not happening. As Doug got older, he watched as the bike world matured. One of his friends, PQ, opened his own shop (Z&Z Cycles Page), but Barnstorm Cycles was not even a gleam in anybody’s eye yet. As Doug continued to grow up, and his bikes got bigger and bigger, the hankering to build custom bikes became stronger and stronger.

As Doug was growing up, his oldest son Jake was growing up as well, and fast! As Jake grew, so did his own love of motorcycles. Jake made steady progress in the world of motorcycles and by his sophomore year in high school, he had bought his very first Harley…from dad Doug, of course. Around that same time, Jake began apprenticing out at Z&Z Cycles in Dudley. Under the watchful eyes of P.Q., Jake also began customizing his own Sporty, when he could afford to do so.

Then, in the summer of 2004, Doug and Jake began tossing around the idea of actually starting up a serious custom motorcycle shop. The dream that Doug had, became a dream that Jake had come to find in his own heart as well. “But what will we call it?” And then it came to them one night at dinner, Barnstorm Cycles! So Barnstorm Cycles was officially launched on January 1st, 2005.
