Royal Enfield Thunderbird Cafe Racer by Gear Gear Motorcycles

There has been a resurgence of the café racer movement over the past few years worldwide. Although it never really went away, but it did seem to go underground for a while. Look out at the bike gangs, onlline blogs and forums, Cafe Racers are centerfold of all the magazine. It is important that the café racer is not clumsy in appearance. Usually post alternation those bike becomes more visually aggressive. Although café racers come in many custom forms, there are some commonalities that run throughout the design. With the lowering of the handlebars and changing of the gas tank and seat, the outline of the bike becomes more curved. It is always important to be little choosy about donor bike, however our today’s bike is a Royal Enfield Thunderbird, which, by means belongs from a cruiser segment! The bike was cropped by Gear Gear Motorcycles from the cit Bangalore, who has been consistently delivering some rich bikes shapes in past days.

Rajaram Rajendran, from Gear Gear Motorcycle shared few words on this newly built Cafe Racer, “This Thunderbird 350 came in unlike the others. This one came in as a heavily modified chopper. The owner found it quite uncomfortable to ride. He really liked the cafe racer form, so we decided to go cafe with it. The front wheel was rehubbed and re-spoked to 80 spokes and a wider rim, which could take a wider 18” tyre. A 140 tyre at the rear on a 15” rim. Reduced the fork length, Re-designed the rear suspension, added clubman handlebars, a custom cafe racer tank, custom fender, custom headlamp and tail lamp with integrated blinkers, cafe racer mirrors. Re-made the seat into a brown brat seat with matching grips to go. A Wildboar shortie for exhaust and a new bend pipe. We relocated the ignition onto the headlamp on this one. New air intake, custom side covers, a bluish-grey paint job, some decals and the bike was ready. A tall bike for a tall rider. ”
