JetStream: Modified Royal Enfield Shotgun from Rajputana Customs

A Shift No One Saw Coming

few people expected India and Royal Enfield to shape the global motorcycle scene. Back then, the idea felt unlikely. Even so, the transformation arrived faster than anyone imagined. Today, both the country and the brand command worldwide attention.

At the same time, Royal Enfield has moved beyond nostalgia. Instead, it has grown into a modern force. Because of this, India’s custom motorcycle culture has gained global respect.

Collaboration Fuels Progress

Success rarely happens alone. Instead, it grows through collaboration. In fact, even established manufacturers rely on creative partners to move forward. That is why the partnership between Royal Enfield and Rajputana Customs stands out.

For this project, Royal Enfield handed over a factory-fresh Shotgun 650. From the outset, the brief stayed simple. In short, the builders had full freedom to create something different.

The Birth of JetStream

Led by Vijay Singh, the Rajputana Customs team acted quickly. Immediately, they stripped the platform down. Then, ideas flowed without restriction. As a result, JetStream emerged as a fully bespoke motorcycle.

Visually, the bike looks bold and futuristic. At the same time, it reflects the growth of both Royal Enfield and India’s custom scene. Because of that, JetStream feels like a milestone.

Freedom Without Limits

Royal Enfield has supported custom culture for years through its Custom World program. Importantly, the brand avoids strict rules. Instead, builders can reshape frames, alter silhouettes, and experiment freely.

Because of this freedom, Rajputana Customs pushed boundaries confidently. In turn, JetStream feels raw, focused, and original.

Choosing a Direction

Deciding on a final style took time. After all, the Shotgun 650 offers many possibilities. Initially, the team explored several layouts. Ultimately, they chose a café racer direction.

However, repeating earlier builds was never an option. Instead, the goal was to create something entirely new.

Building a Frame from Scratch

That decision meant starting over. First, the team stripped the motorcycle completely. Next, they shaped ideas using wire and pipe. Soon, the stock frame no longer fit the vision.

As a result, Rajputana built a new chassis from scratch. Slim steel tubes form a perimeter frame. Meanwhile, a long lower rail doubles as backbone and subframe. Together, these elements create a radical structure.

Suspension and Stance

The team designed a bespoke swingarm to match the new frame. Visually, its twin tubes flow around the mounts. Because of this, it appears like a single folded piece of steel.

Up front, the team shortened the forks aggressively. As a result, travel drops to just two inches. Consequently, JetStream sits ultra-low and purposeful.

Prioritising Visual Flow

Inside the forks, new cartridges and springs improve control. Still, practicality was not the main goal. Instead, the team focused on clean lines and balance.

With that mindset, massive Pirelli race slicks made sense. Mounted on hand-built spoked wheels, they complete the bike’s aggressive stance.

Hand-Shaped Bodywork

Once the chassis was complete, bodywork took center stage. Here, Rajputana Customs excels. By hand, the team shaped every aluminium panel. Constantly, they refined proportions and flow.

A flat-topped fuel tank sits deep within the frame. Meanwhile, brushed alloy contrasts sharply with black steel. As a result, the top line stays clean.

Clean Details, Clear Intent

The tail ends in a sharp aluminium cowl. Likewise, the seat base hides neatly inside the subframe. Simple black race foam keeps the look honest.

Up front, a hand-formed aluminium nose cowl adds drama. Inside it, a small LED headlight completes the minimalist design.

A Focused Final Statement

The engine wears a satin-black finish. In contrast, stainless fasteners and hand-turned velocity stacks add detail. Clip-on handlebars reinforce the café racer stance. Meanwhile, stock grips and switchgear retain a link to Royal Enfield’s roots.

Ultimately, JetStream stands as a clear statement. Above all, it shows what happens when tradition meets fearless creativity. In doing so, it confirms that Indian custom motorcycles now belong on the world stage.
