Royal Enfield Interceptor Scrambler by Purpose Built Moto (PBM)
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has become a favourite platform for custom motorcycle builders worldwide. Purpose Built Moto (PBM) took this classic street bike and reimagined it as a rugged scrambler-style build. The result is a motorcycle that delivers both function and visual impact.
PBM’s Scrambler Conversion: Key Upgrades & Features
At the core of the Purpose Built Moto Interceptor Scrambler, PBM combined performance upgrades, refined styling, and high-quality components. Each change serves a clear purpose and strengthens the overall design.
1. Wide Wheel Conversion
PBM installed its wide wheel kit with a 17×5-inch rear wheel and a 17×3.5-inch front wheel. This setup expands tyre options and improves versatility. As a result, the bike handles rougher surfaces with greater confidence.
PBM chose a 170/17 rear tyre and a Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR 130/17 front tyre to deliver stronger grip and a more aggressive stance.
2. Custom Fender Work
PBM fabricated a custom front fender to suit the scrambler profile. At the rear, the bike runs a PBM aluminium rear fender. Pop Bang Classics finished both components in deep black, giving the bike a cohesive and purposeful appearance.
3. Upgraded Handlebars & Controls
To improve comfort and control, PBM fitted Renthal 7/8 handlebars. In addition, the bike received a full LED lighting setup. This includes PBM’s Flashpoint Classic headlight and hollow tip indicators, mounted using a PBM headlight kit. Consequently, visibility and functionality are both improved.
4. Custom Seating & Leather Details
PBM rebuilt the seat using the original factory pan. Timeless Auto Trim re-foamed the seat and trimmed it in premium leather. This approach improves comfort while adding a timeless finish.
PBM completed the cockpit with custom leather grips and scrambler bar-end mirrors, reinforcing the rugged scrambler aesthetic.
5. Tail & Lighting Modifications
Finally, PBM shortened the frame hoops to clean up the rear profile. A stainless steel tail tidy was added for a minimal finish. Additionally, multifunction hollow point indicators were integrated to serve as brake lights, tail lights, and turn signals. All wiring is neatly hidden beneath the seat.
Performance Meets Style
Overall, every modification on this Royal Enfield Interceptor Scrambler by PBM improves more than just aesthetics. The wider tyres enhance traction across different surfaces. At the same time, ergonomic upgrades make longer rides more comfortable and enjoyable.
