Customizing a Motorcycle is in many ways a truly epic undertaking. It’s like climbing the Everest of the mechanical world, requiring equal parts engineering skills, design, creativity, problem solving, patience and brute force. And when someone does that so nicely, there’s nothing more left to say than pleasuring our eyeballs. Here we’ve got them again, Rajputana Custom Motorcycle, in short, RCM’s second custom on a V-twin engine. The first one was the Rajmata from donor bike of a 1200cc Harley Davidson. Here’s a couple of shots to get you excited (who needs Viagra haha).
“Purav Sood’s Honda-Steed is called “Bittoo” because the boys in the shop have always called her “Bittoo” as opposed to “V-2 or V-Twin” since they sound the same. It was innocent mispronunciation that sparked the name “Bittoo” and we just left it at that lovingly if i may say so. So there you have it, no heavy names with descriptive meanings behind them…namkaran ho gaya hai by the youngest helper in the shop and he insists on calling her “Bittoo”. Vijay Singh told 350cc.com right after he posted the photos on their fan club, few minutes before from now, we are doing it fast enough right?
“The donor bike was originally a Honda Steed 400cc that we restored and customized by us. Purav wanted a simple and subtle looking bike which didn’t stand out in a crowd instantly. We stuck with an all Black and Chrome theme for the bike with a few highlights of metal work and led lights. She sounds like a beauty and rides real smooth as well.” Said Vijay.
“We didnt make any changes to the frame but did the rear swing arm” Vijay explained to us. He added ” We wont do the same custom using an Royal Enfield, too much work and it doesn’t make sense” You’ve done all the fair justice to all the Royal Enfields you’ve worked with, I told myself while writing this.
How about the Price? We obviously ask everytime, well if you have a Honda Sted 400cc, go and hit them since you’ll get a great deal. It’s about INR 2.2Lakh ($4400) for the custom charge. Since Vijay mentioned, the same custom can’t be done with a Royal Enfield.
“Its always been about the bikes..never about me…so its good to see them in the limelight, Cheers to the people who have been working hard right beside me for the last 2 years. “Bittoo” it is .” Vijay ended with. Again we thank him and his hard working passionate team for all those pretty Motorcycles to offer us to watch.
Here’s a nice video of Bittoo, on the Bike Vijay himself, taken by RCM,
