Royal Enfield Phoenix by AMS Garage Debuts at Kustomfest Indonesia
Royal Enfield introduced its first official custom motorcycle at Kustomfest 2024 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The brand has long built simple and durable mid-size motorcycles. Now, it takes a bold step into the world of custom culture.
The new machine carries the name Phoenix. Royal Enfield developed it together with AMS Garage. With this project, the company strengthens its presence in the Asia-Pacific custom scene.

A Custom Bagger Born from the Super Meteor 650
The builders based the Phoenix on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. They chose this model because it offers a strong cruiser foundation. As a result, the bike now features a long and low bagger style.
First, the team redesigned the frame from the ground up. Next, they added a girder-style front suspension with air support. After that, they created a hardtail rear section to achieve a classic chopper look. Finally, they shaped the bodywork from hand-formed aluminum.

Key features include:
- Custom girder front suspension
- Hardtail rear frame design
- Flowing aluminum body panels
- Integrated saddlebags and rear fender
- Stretched and aggressive riding stance
Thanks to these changes, the Phoenix stands out as a true showstopper. Moreover, it remains a functional motorcycle and not just a display piece.

The Meaning Behind the Name Phoenix
The name Phoenix comes from the ancient myth of rebirth. Therefore, it reflects Royal Enfield’s new creative direction. The company wants to support builders and fresh ideas.
In addition, the project shows respect for Indonesian custom culture. The local scene continues to grow every year. For this reason, Royal Enfield chose Kustomfest as the perfect stage.
Royal Enfield Strengthens Custom Commitment
Royal Enfield did not only bring one motorcycle. Instead, the brand showcased several inspiring builds. Each bike highlighted a different style and approach.
Among the displayed machines were:
- A Shotgun 650 custom by Thrive Motorcycles
- A Classic 500 Bobber by Smoked Garage
- Trackmaster and Eleanor Tracker by Frontwheels Garage
These projects prove one clear fact. Royal Enfield motorcycles adapt easily to many concepts. Consequently, builders can explore unlimited creative directions.

Inspiring Riders and Builders
Through Kustomfest 2024, Royal Enfield sends a clear message. The brand wants riders to see motorcycles as creative platforms. At the same time, it encourages collaboration with independent workshops.
The Phoenix marks the beginning of this journey. In the future, Royal Enfield plans to support more custom initiatives. As a result, the global community can expect many exciting projects.
