Sinroja Continental GT650 – A High-Performance Café Racer Built to Race
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 stands as one of the most popular modern café racers. It blends classic design with modern engineering. The bike uses a 648 cc parallel-twin engine. This motor produces about 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Its style pays tribute to the golden age of café racing.
Many builders have customized this platform. Yet the Sinroja Continental GT650 remains one of the most extreme versions. The team built this machine for real competition. It focuses on speed rather than appearance alone.

The Story Behind Sinroja’s Drag Racer
Sinroja Motorcycles, a celebrated custom shop led by brothers Rahul and Birju Sinroja, has earned its reputation by turning motorcycle dreams into reality. The UK-based builder specialises in bespoke bikes and has collaborated with major manufacturers on high-profile projects.
In 2019, Sinroja teamed up with Royal Enfield to transform the Continental GT650 into a drag racing machine for the prestigious Sultans of Sprint European race series. Despite only having four weeks to complete the build, the brothers poured every ounce of craftsmanship into creating what they called the ‘Two Smoking Barrels’ GT650 — a stripped-down sprint racer designed to punch well above its class.

How the GT650 Was Transformed
The standard Continental GT650 offered a solid base. However, the bike needed serious upgrades for sprint racing. Sinroja worked closely with S&S Cycles to boost performance. The team increased engine capacity to 750 cc. They added new injectors, performance cams, and a tuned ECU. A free-flow exhaust improved breathing.

The builders also wanted stronger acceleration. Trevor Langford, known as the Wizard of NOS, installed a nitrous system. This gave the GT650 a major power boost on the strip.
Weight reduction played a key role. The team removed many stock parts. They fitted an Antigravity battery and machined alloy yokes. A minimalist front end replaced the original setup. Sinroja also redesigned the subframe. Every change aimed to cut weight and sharpen performance.

Racing Results and Legacy
The finished bike faced much larger rivals. It lined up against nitrous BMWs and supercharged Harleys. Despite this, the Sinroja GT650 proved highly competitive. It came close to a podium finish at Sultans of Sprint. The bike later appeared at major custom events across Europe.
This project showed what the Continental GT650 can achieve. Sinroja proved the platform suits serious racing, not just street style. The build strengthened the reputation of both the builders and Royal Enfield.
