Avenger, the mid segment cruiser series from Bajaj, has now been in India for almost a decade and continuing with a great success  in own segment among young chaps, who are on the look-out for a good-looking bike for their daily commute. With Bajaj selling around 4,000-4,500 units every year, the Make in India brand has decided to continue to cater to a niche audience. The low end stock bike itself has own charm and it became even more when some apt bike builder did their hands on the bike – check out this bobber version of a 2010 year’s Bajaj Avenger, which was modified by Gear Gear Motorcycles from Bangalore.

Talking about the bike, Rajaram Rajendran from Gear Gear Motorcycles shared few lines with us, “The first thing we’d to do on this was to get the stance right. A bigger and fatter front wheel did the job. From then on, we just kept stripping the bike of whatever we thought weren’t essential.

Modded the chassis for a single seat build, and went for a thin but comfortable pleated seat. Removed the tank mounted gauge unit, side covers, the entire tail section, and mounted the rather big battery in the middle. Went with a K&N air filter, simple round blinkers, bar end mirrors, custom made fenders, side mounted license plate, custom exhaust and a small tail lamp. We kept the chain cover on though. Clubman handlebars, new tyres, a dark red paint job with some pin striping on the tank and black everywhere else. The bike was ready to go.
